Now in Stock: Leckerlee Lebkuchen in New Collectible Tins for 2020

I know that some of our customers look forward to this time of year not only for the traditional treats that are eaten, but also because of the packaging some of these treats come in. Take, for instance, Leckerlee Lebkuchen…

Leckerlee produces some of the worlds best Nuremberg Lebkuchen. Nürnberger Lebkuchen or Elisenlebkuchen in Germany, is the crème de la crème of lebkuchen, having the highest nut content -- typically comprised of almonds and hazelnuts, but also walnuts and cashews -- of all types of lebkuchen. By definition, Nürnberger Lebkuchen must contain a minimum of 25% nuts and less than 10% wheat flour. The finest artisanal lebkuchen bakeries in Nuremberg boast close to 40% nut content, while industrial manufacturers tend to meet the bare minimum threshold of 25%.

In Germany, lebkuchen are gifted in decorative tins, and every year Leckerlee designs their own versions that honor the tradition and make a lasting gift on their own. Their annual tin unveiling is part of the excitement and anticipation customers feel each fall as lebkuchen season approaches. Year after year, you might give lebkuchen as a gift, to those that you know really appreciate it. Even though you might give the same gift of lebkuchen every year, the tins help to make the holidays and gift-giving special .

An interesting tidbit of information that you might not have guessed: Leckerlee started in New York! We think that that last year they moved to Colorado. We aren’t sure if the hole operation moved there, or just part of it.

We purchase a limited amount of Lebkuchen from Leckerlee each fall. Typically we only purchase the new tin designs that are available. When the tins of lebkuchen that we purchased are gone, well, that’s it for another year.

Give Leckerlee Lebkuchen a try. It’s definitely worth the price… just like our caramels are!

If you’re one of our first customers to purchase a tin of Leckerlee from us, well throw in a tin of Jacobsen’s Danish Butter Cookies, while supplies last. Use Discount Code “FREEBUTTERCOOKIES” when you check out. We will automatically add them to your order. Limit one per customer.
