12 Things to Do at Brady Street Festival This Year

Don’t miss dog yoga, a drag show, belly dancers and all the other fun at this beloved street fest.

TAKE PART IN A Milwaukee tradition on Historic Brady Street that has been around since the 1970s. Pop over to Brady Street tomorrow (July 30) for a day full of fun, food, handmade crafts, a drag show and much more. With over 100 vendors participating, there’s something for everyone at Brady Street Festival. 

1. DOGA (Dog Yoga)

11:30 A.M. | NORTH SHORE BANK EAST STAGE 

You and your dog can bow-wow all of Brady Street with your yoga knowledge. MKE Yoga Social and Off Leash MKE are teaming up to help you and pets relax in a new way: people and pups doing yoga together – what could be more fun? 

2. Casablanca Belly Dancers

9 P.M. | MILWAUKEE RECORD WEST STAGE  

Belly dancers from Brady Street’s Casablanca will help start the night off right with lots of energy, flair and bejeweled outfits. 

3. My Sistuh’s Trunk 

ALL DAY | BRADY & N. ARLINGTON PL.

The dynamic duo of sisters/crafters of My Sistuh’s Trunk have a fabulous selection of handmade jewelry and other crafts to choose from. Stop by to find a new way to spice up your wardrobe. 

4. Happy Dough Lucky 

ALL DAY | BRADY & N. HUMBOLDT AVE.

The only thing better than one, regular-sized donut is a bunch of deliciously topped mini donuts. Try classics like cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar – or go wild and get a combo. If you’re feeling less traditional, check out the s’mores or Nutella donuts. 

5. Adventure Rock Climbing Wall 

ALL DAY 

Love Milwaukee but hate how it lacks big rocks to climb? Well, Adventure Rock is bringing the mountain to you with their outdoor climbing wall. Stop on by and see Brady Street from new heights. 

6. Evan Christian 

1:30 P.M. | MILWAUKEE RECORD WEST STAGE 

This award-winning guitarist and Milwaukee native is bringing flamenco music to Brady Street this weekend. Come listen to the musical talents he learned while studying in Spain. 

7. Brady Street Babes Drag Show 

10 P.M. | MILWAUKEE RECORD WEST STAGE 

DJ Dripsweat will drop the beats as some of Brady Street’s very own talented drag queens take the stage. The beloved Brady Street Babes are a fan-favorite at the festival, so make sure to get your viewing spot early. 

8. De La Luz 

8 P.M. | ONMILWAUKEE CENTER STAGE 

A combination of “theatrics, filmmaking and music,” this band draws on their life experiences to tell stories. Their sound is self-described as R&B pop-alternative. 

9. Abbey Bell Does 

ALL DAY | BRADY & N. FRANKLIN PL. 

Bell is an artist who creates everything from hand-painted backpacks to tattoos. The Milwaukee-based tattooist’s work will leave an impression – and maybe a permanent piece of art, if you’re feeling spontaneous – on you. 

10. Cream City Caramels 

ALL DAY | BRADY & N. FRANKLIN PL. 

If you’ve got a sweet tooth be sure to check out this booth. This alliterative confection creator has caramel flavors like pecan praline, salted vanilla, key lime pie, pumpkin ales and more. 

11. Pedro’s South American Cuisine 

ALL DAY | BRADY & N. MARSHALL ST. 

When a restaurant’s Twitter handle is @emapanadasMKE, you know for sure that they make great empanadas, a power they take very seriously. Pedro’s, which specializes in South American food, also serves arepas, tacos and corn bowls.

In the market for prints, enamel pins, coloring pages and stickers? This local artist has them all. Her works are an explosion of color that will brighten up any room that you put them in.
